SEN. KENNENDY SUFFERS STROKE - TAKEN TO HOSPITAL

Posted by Matthew Kilburn on May 17, 2008

FOX NEWS reports that Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) suffered a stroke at the Kennedy Compound in Hyannisport. He was taken to the hospital near the compound, but was then flown to Massachusetts General Hospital. His situation is said to serious, though it is unclear whether that is just a description of the situation, or if he is in “serious condition”.

More as the situation develops.

UPDATE 5 PM EST: Good News. It looks like it was a seizure rather than a stroke - still not good, but probably better. Kennedy is said to be awake and talking, so it doesn’t look like there will be lasting damage. Best wishes to the Kennedy family.
