I am thrilled to report that I now believe that Republicans will succeed in maintaining control in both the House and Senate. That means no Speaker Pelosi this year. While its true that Republicans will likely loose seats, I beleive that Democrats will fail to gain control.
The reason? Polls.
That may seem strange since only 30% of the American Public approve of Congress, but one must look closer to see the real story. Firstly, 60% of Americans like their own Congressmen. Secondly, the Foley issue is dead. Much to the Democrats dismay, a huge majority of Americans say that the Foley issue will play little to no role in their decision. Democrats can’t win on taxes, Democrats can’t win on morality, Democrats can’t win on immigration, and they can’t even win on Iraq.
