Democrats have had time to throw their fit, now they need to pass a funding bill that will give the troops the funds they need without trampling on the authority of the President, and without setting deadlines for defeat. The troops in Iraq are doing a heck of a job, and deaths in Baghdad are down 60% since the troops urge began. Even as the situation improves, Democrats are increasing the pressure on the President to pull out. This is unacceptable. If the Democrats really want Americans to believe that they support the troops, then they need to fund the troops, fund them now, and drop all of the ridiculous amendments that have found their way onto the funding bills. Once the troops have the resources they need, then maybe the President can extend an offer to the Democrats to review the war strategy, and determine what is working, what is not, and what we need to change to ensure victory.
