Sarkozy Wins French Presidential Election

I’m not one to cover European – much less French – politics, but this is pretty important. Nicolas Sarkozy, a Conservative, has defeated Ségolène Royal, a Socialist, to win the 2007 French Presidential Election. This could mean that Europe is finally starting to buck the trend of passive liberal governments in favor of strong Conservative leaders who will defend their countries against the enemies next door.

Doesn’t Mitt Romney speak fluent French? He and Sakozy might make a fine coalition fighting the Islamic extremists.
