Alright, just a quick update on the Republican Presidential Primaries. Michigan has finally picked a date – before South Carolina. This does not mean that South Carolina has to move, because Michigan is not a Southern state, and the South Carolina state law only requires it to be “first in the South.” That said, it could force some changes by New Hampshire and Iowa.
The date is January 15th – which is, I admit, before the day I had thought Michigan would pick, January 29th. I was hoping Michigan would pick the 29th, mainly because it would help lessen the impact if Romney won Michigan (which is likely), but lost Florida (where he still trails). Now Romney needs to win Florida, because you don’t want to let Giuliani go into Super Tuesday with the momentum.
