McMentum never materialized. After two weeks of disappointments and defeats, true Conservatism has finally secured a victory. I am very happy to be able to report that Mitt Romney has won the Michigan primary. Despite the fact that there was no real contest on the Democratic side, and despite the fact that Romney had not previously won a major contest, MI voters turned out for him in a big way. Romney appears to be cruising to victory with about 40% of the vote.
So, what does it all mean? Well, for one, it will preserve Romney’s position as both the top vote getter and the delegate leader in the GOP primary. It also means that the GOP race has become even more clouded – with the first four contests splitting three different ways. Aditionally, it means that we are in for a roller coaster of a ride through Florida and Super Tuesday. Finally, it means that the chances of a divided convention – where I believe Romney has an excellent shot – only increases.
