Hypocrisy is one of the worst crimes that you can commit as a politician, and no man knows this better now than New York Governor (soon to be former governor) Eliot Spitzer, a former prosecutor who promised to clean up NY politics, and a man who is now expected to resign after being linked to a high-end prostitution ring, and, according to some sources, indicted on charges relating to that ring. As of right now, what charges he may be facing, and exactly what role he played in the “Emperor’s Club” – the name of the prostitution ring, are unknown.
In a news conference, in which Spitzer refused to take questions, he apologized for his actions, and said that he had acted in an improper way. Although he did not resign during the press conference, he is expected to formally resign later today.
Updates as they happen.
