McCain Headed for Fifty-State Sweep?

At least according to AOL’s straw poll he is.

John McCain’s core support group consists of older, more moderate voters. These two groups are not exactly known for their internet proficiency or involvement. So When AOL’s straw poll shows McCain winning in all fifty states – something that even Ronald Reagan couldn’t do, I’m more than a little suspicious. Obama’s key supporters – young liberals – usually dominate the internet, so why aren’t they turning out in higher numbers for their guy in online polls?

I don’t have a clue whats going on, but either internet dominance is changing, or we should be able to throw every professional polling firm into the ash heap in November.

  1. While I agree with you that McCain will probably win in November, I don’t think AOL was around in 1980!

  2. No, I mean Reagan never won all fifty states in an election – he won the most ever, at 49.

  3. I know, I was just funnin’ ya!

  4. copp

Telephone phonieness -(crowd mentality) vs actual private preferences. No wonder McCain’s got that big grin on all the time.
It’a actually his to lose and he knows it. With Mr Competence at his side to bring the point home, he’s in like Flynn.
